FARM PRODUCE

We breed and rear our own heritage livestock and produce high quailty meat. We produce small scale, outdoor reared beef, lamb and pork from our own stock, which is processed and packed by local plants, we then sell locally including to guests who stay with us. This is so called 'farm to fork' food, small scale and low intensity using breeds that are suited to the British countryside.

BEEF

We raise Dexter & DexterX cattle as they are a UK heritage, hardy breed that are well established and suited for UK climates and land scapes, unlike many of the intensely commercial cattle breeds and imports that big industry favour for quick growing, high weight gain product. Dexters are smaller, slower growing animals that take a little longer to develop but produce a fabulous flavoured, quality cut known for its marbling. Out animals are grass fed only, we sustain them through the year on pasture and produce hay and haylage for their winter feed right here on the farm.

We produce a range of traditional cuts as  well as discounted mixed boxes. We also, by prior arrangement, can provide specialty cuts as we have done for custom rib joints, short ribs, flat iron, chuck eye or chueck steaks.


Standard cuts and joints:

  • Brisket

  • Toipside/silverside

  • Rib joints

  • Braising and stewing steak

  • Beef shin

  • Thib rib steaks

  • Fillet, sirloin and rump steaks

  • Mince

  • Quarter pounder burgers

  • Mixed boxes - 5or 10Kg

LAMB

As with the cattle, out sheep are established on a grass pastures and our own winter hay system. Jacobs are an ancient, heritage, indiginous  breed suited to outdoor life year round. Well know for its incredible flavour and texture, the lamb is highly sought, as is hogget and mutton.

We offer all the traditional options of chump, loin, cutlets, leg, shoulder, neck, breast/mince and provide large discounts for half or whole boxes. We are also happy to arrange a particular cut for pre-order in advance if there is something specific you need.

Lamb cuts are usually traditional as follows:

​

  • Chump and loin steaks

  • Cutlets (or racks by arrangement)

  • Neck fillets

  • Half legs and shoulders (whole on request in advance)

  • Mince (breast of lamb by arrangement)

  • Offal - liver & kidney

​

We also heavily discount orders for half or whole lamb boxes, so if you need to fill the freezer when you go home.

PORK

Oxford Sandy and Black pigs produce amazing pork, with a flavour that is hard to beat.

Traditional cuts and joints such as:

  • Half shoulder and leg joints

      (whole or bacon joints by arrangement)

  • Chops

  • Tenderloin

  • Ribs/Spare ribs

  • Mince

  • Sausages - we usually do Cumberland, Hop and a gluten free breakfast sausage.

EGGS

What do you fancy?

For baking or breakfast we usually have a variety of fresh hen eggs available. We also at some times of the year have availability of;

  • Duck eggs

  • Goose eggs

  • Turkey eggs
